Check out Calliope Socks - just released in the Twist Collective Winter 2011 edition. The red and purple pair are my first published sample knit. I loved knitting these up - a great pattern and a fantastic design by Sharon Fuller. The pattern has some great techniques including a stretchy and decorative cast on I had never worked before, a method for working cable crosses in brioche that is smooth on the non-public side, and very clever heel and toe construction. And the decreases on the foot are so flattering!
I think we need a knit along for these socks - I need to work up the calf length version now!
