Answering the One Small Change Challenge - January

Learned of this Challenge through the Greencraft Group discussion board on Ravelry:

Hip Mountain Mama is having a challenge!
We want to challenge each of you to make 1 change each month leading up to Earth Day (April 22, 2010). It can be small or it can be huge, but all we ask is that you decide on something you will do to make a positive green impact and follow through with it. If everyone makes 4 changes between January and April, this can have a huge effect.

So our change for January is to start composting.  Now, starting this in January in single digits might not be the best plan, but DH has agreed to the concept.  We're already recycling most everything else we can - this seems like the next logical strep to keep reducing the solid waste footprint.  Off to find some suitable containers and learn more.  Should have paid more attention to Mom and Dad  - they've been doing this for decades!

  1. Composting is something I've wanted to do for awhile now. Can't at the moment, but once I have my own place again...

  2. We'll see how it goes. We have a small yard.
