Blitz - Yet another Super Scarves pattern

I know it's been awhile, but I've been up to some things that required a bit of secrecy.  I've decided to try my luck at getting some designs published, which requires that there be no public display prior to publication.  So I've had to sit tight on a few projects, not even posting on Ravely, which is really hard!   But the good news is that one design has been accepted (though likely not out til next winter) and there is interest in a few more.

I'm also working towards a book on two-colored projects, geared towards items that can be worn or displayed to show team spirit.  I'm still in the planning stages, but it seems like there may be a market for these kinds of patterns.  Would love to hear any thoughts on that - do you think there would be enough interest in these kinds of patterns to support a new book?

I am still working on super scarves  - here is the latest - I call it Blitz, because it can be worked so many different ways, but is fast and to the point.

A pdf is available for download over on the right side of the blog under the complimentary patterns section.

I experimented with mixing in small sections of stockinette (by purling on the wrong side).  For example, an entirely different look is achieved it the vertical bars are kept in stockinette while the horizontal bits stay in garter.    Then I tried it the other way - horizontal in stockinette and vertical in garter - a surprisingly different look.

I also explored mixing up the main color and the background colors.  I think this added a lot of visual interest to the scarf.

I've spelled out some options - I'm sure there are many more so do some exploration. And  post your results on Ravelry, or leave a comment here (or both).

Happy Knitting!
