More Fun with Brioche

Mittens are finished and up on the Project Yarnway professional runway thread over on Ravelry.  The designs are fantastic this month, on both the prof and amateur runways - be sure to check it out and vote for your favorite.

I'm still having a great time exploring brioche knitting.  For a while now I've been eyeing those slouchy berets.  They look like hats that even I could wear.  I think they might be perfect for covering up my helmet hair (from either biking or riding).  So I played around a bit and came up with these.

They are made out of Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick. I know it is an acrylic and wool blend, but I was going for washable and readily available for these experiments.  Next up will be some yummy Malabrigo or Blue Sky bulkies.

These are easy once you get the hang of brioche in the round.   One skein and one evening in front of the tv.

The design is still in testing, but I will post it as a complimentary pattern as soon as it is ready.  Much credit will go to Nancy Marchant as I will use her definitions and stitch descriptions.   For more information - check out www.briochestitch.com
