Race You - new hat pattern

Here's something I've been working on for a while -This hat was inspired by a hat I saw in a crowd shot of an alpine event during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, BC.  There were so many great knitted hats on display at the games this year.  I only caught a glimpse, but I was instantly drawn to the checkerboard design. Here in Indianapolis, the racing capital of the world, we’re mighty fond of checkered designs.    I think this would be great worked up in college team colors -  Hummm - do I have any maize and blue in the stash?

The picture isn't that great - will post a pic of someone actually wearing it as soon as I can con someone into modeling it. 100% wool, stranded for extra warmth.  The pattern can be found linked in the complimentary pattern section to the right.
