A hat only a wolverine could love

It's just a few days before the start of the college football season, and once again, hope springs eternal for all us Michigan fans.  We have a new coach, Brady Hoke, who is a "Michigan Man" - I just know this is going to be a positive, if rebuilding, season for my beloved Michigan Wolverines.  To celebrate, I whipped up a 2-color version of the Quick Slouchy Brioche Beret.  This pattern was designed to be worked in one color, so I wasn't too sure how it would turn out, but I must say that the result was a bit surprising and pleasing to me anyway.   And the hat is reversible.

Have to admit that this color combination in a hat is a bit, ahem, loud, perhaps obnoxious.  But you better believe I'll be sporting much more Maize and Blue come Saturdays this fall.   Sorry Mr. Verdigris Knits.

Modifying the pattern to use 2 colors is fairly straightforward.  The ribbed band is knit in one color and then the second color is added in on the second set up round.  Then just alternate colors every round to the the last couple of rounds, when only the main color stitches are left on the needle.  I think this would look stunning in a black and grey combo, or maybe navy and camel.   Give it a shot and let me know how yours turns out.
